- I’m a fly fisherman and bamboo rod maker. I started fishing some 38 years ago at age 16th in rivers around the world, but primarily in Argentina, where I usually fish for trout and salmon, but never disdain other freshwater species like dorado and bass. I build my bamboo rods with our native cane and with an unique ferrule I designed and called BOBFS (bamboo on bamboo ferrule system). My own tapers and the BOBFS give them an increased power transfer, since the action is uninterrupted from the grip to the tip.
